After spending 6 years on his first professional stop after college, he accepted a position with Tenet Healthcare in Columbia, MO, where he managed 8 physician practices throughout Mid-Missouri. After Tenet sold their hospital in Columbia, to the University of Missouri, Van went back to his passion of recruiting physicians and started his first permanent recruiting firm. He sold Timeline Recruiting to Maxim Health in 2006 and then started his second firm. His most recent venture is with We Staff GI, where he partnered with one of his close friends, Dr. Tim Huggins (Gastroenterologist), to start a staffing company that helps mid-size hospitals solve the problem of "how do we stop patients with intestinal issues from leaving our community to have their GI needs met". Where there is a problem, there is a solution, and from this, We Staff GI was born. Van still resides in Columbia, MO where he has been married to his wife, Julie, of 24 years, and their daughter who attends the University of Missouri.

Dr. Tim Huggins

Dr. Tim Huggins, originally from Alabama, did his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and then did his Gastroenterology (GI) Fellowship at University Texas Southwestern Medical Center. After completing his training, he worked in Dallas, TX for a brief time before discovering his true passion was to serve the needs of a smaller community just west of Ft. Worth, TX. Dr. Huggins has built a very successful practice that attracts patients from all over the DFW metroplex and as far north as Oklahoma. Dr. Huggins met his wife, Anne, before moving to Weatherford where they have raised their family and he continues to provide care to his community and abroad. He believes there are smaller communities and cities all over the U.S. that are losing GI patients to larger cities and that destroys continuity of care and causes community hospitals to suffer financially to the point of insolvency. His model, We Staff GI, is the answer to the question, "can mid-size communities compete for GI services" and the answer is, Yes. The answer is "yes", if GI is done right. Just ask him and it won't take long before his GI passion comes through the conversation.

{% endblock %}
